Ever had a strong yet unexplainable feeling that you’re meant to be doing something else in life? Maybe you have everything, yet theres a void that doesn’t make sense? In order to discover your life purpose, you have to discover yourself.
For as long as I can remember, even before I started working, I had a strong inner sense that I was here for a purpose. I knew that my life was going to be different to my parents yet I had no idea how or what I was here to do. As a teen going through depression I always felt there was more to life than I had experienced and witnessed.
When I eventually started to work I thought that maybe this feeling would disappear but in-fact it got stronger. I had a void in my soul, there was a different path for me and I was frustrated because I still wasn’t aware of what it was and how to go about it. But, the more I ignored this calling, the more I would suffer emotionally and feel unstable in life, the feeling of wasting my years only made it worse. What was my purpose and why was I here?
HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR LIFE PURPOSE
Uncover your passion
Your passion and interests in life are no meaningless flukes. You have this fire from within for a reason, to do something with it. You see, my problem was that I hadn’t yet discovered my passion, I had no hobby and never really knew what I wanted to do in life.
Do you have a passion for helping the homeless or do you have undying love for whales? When you uncover your passion, you are one step ahead at discovering your life purpose.
I always enjoyed writing, I remember creating my own stories as a child on Microsoft word, then in my early teens I gained a massive passion for “Law of Attraction” and “Self-development“. It wasn’t until I started writing again that my passion came through and I was lead to what I believe is my purpose today.
By sharing my truth through writing, I hope to help others that have been through similar situations by guiding them with my passion for an optimistic and self creation way of living.

Listen to your heart
If you’re like me and at the moment don’t believe or haven’t yet discovered your passion, ask yourself these questions:
- What was I doing when I was at my most happiest?
- What did I enjoy doing as a child? (And does this still resonate with me now?)
- If there were no limitations or feelings of fear, what would I do my life?
- Is there a cause I feel strongly about?
Asking these questions will really shine a light onto the things that you may have never looked at as a life purpose before. Maybe as a child you loved helping out in the garden or you loved nature, if that still resonates with you now then you could have just found your passion.
If you are still unsure, then it’s time to try new things! Experiment with what you enjoy. What many don’t realise is that you may have been fulfilling your purpose, but often our purpose evolves and changes.

My Mum worked in retail and sales for over 25 years, she loved her job and it resonated with her! however a year ago my mum’s passion changed. Anyone who came into the shop she worked in with special needs really raised her vibration, she felt a strong urge to go out of her way to interact with them and this lead her to her new purpose of working with people with needs . She now works in a home for the disabled and she couldn’t be more content and happy in her job.
Listen to your heart and follow that gut instinct. You are being pulled in a certain direction for a reason.

Your undying love for whales could lead you to saving the whale population or discovering more about their way of living. If you enjoy being creative, then you could potentially sell your creations for a good cause.
Trial and error is all about finding your life purpose. Sometimes we know exactly what we are here to do and other times we have to go through life experiences to find what we are really here to do. Often people go through tragic events to fulfil their purpose of setting up charities and helping others. By showing up and being of service in the best and unique way that you can, you are ultimately living your life purpose.
