4 Ways to Develop Strong Intuition

Develop Strong Intuition

For as long as I can remember I have always been an indecisive person, even the smallest choices can become monstrous to me. This often leaves me in a pit of frustration and negativity and in result I waste a lot of time and miss possible opportunities.

After delving into numerous self development books, I was reminded that the ability to listen to your gut (intuition) enhances your insight and in result, you begin to make better decision choices. But how do you develop strong intuition?

Many of us have gotten into the habit of ignoring our intuition, whether that be down to fear or lack of self trust, but learning to listen to this gut feeling can in actual fact help us in times of need and lead us to our soul’s true calling and evolution.

Do more things that make you forget about your phone

In a world where social media, gaming and technology is on a steady rise, it is extremely important to remember that we once lived on a planet where none of this existed. Take time to connect with nature, move your body, get some fresh air and relish in the natural flow of life around you!

Find something you enjoy and do it more often! Getting creative helps to open up and strengthen the “Pineal gland” (Also known as the third eye chakra) which in this day and age becomes stagnant due to the modern way of living and blocks your true perception on life. By stimulating this gland you are enhancing your intuition and way of perceiving situations.

When was the last time you sat alone in complete silence? Because of our constant busy and on the go lifestyles, we tend to deny our selves the time needed to listen to our inner thoughts and feelings. Meditation plays a vital role in strengthening your intuition, by quietening the distractions of the outside world it gives us a chance to listen to our gut, allowing our intuition to shine through.

It doesn’t have to be an hour long session, try meditating just 10-15 minutes a day and you will soon see the changes, you will begin to react to things more rationally and from a better point of view.

Trust your gut and pay attention

How many times have you had a gut feeling you wish you had listened to? That right there is your intuition! Pay attention to how you feel around different people, recognise any sensations that occur in your gut when you hear about certain things and log down any “coincidences” that arise. These initial signs are your intuitions way of communicating with you.

Every time you listen to the guidance of your intuition, you are strengthening the connection with your inner being. Over time you will begin to feel more confident when making choices and feel at peace with the way your life is panning out. Sometimes it may be difficult to act on your intuition but it usually requires you to take the leap in order to discover the magic behind the calling.

Keep a dream journal

Our dreams are a representation of our subconscious mind. Keeping a journal will really help to obtain an understanding of what your intuition is expressing.

Dreams can offer such powerful intuitive guidance that unfortunately most of us dismiss! Pay attention to any emotions expressed, reoccurring numbers or themes that you experience. This gives you a chance to go back and analyse in times of struggle and possibly gain insight into what you need to do next.

    1. Thank you Sam 🙂 number 1 is definitely something I think the majority of us are guilty for! But trying to make an effort to change is a great first step!

  1. I can really relate to the struggle to following my intuition. Perhaps I was a late bloomer or just not mature enough at the time to trust my OWN instincts and please others but I can definitely agree with LISTEN TO YOUR GUT. It took me learning the hard way that THAT FEELING INSIDE of uneasiness, stress and anxiety was more than just not feeling well. It was my inner spirit yelling at me to pay attention!! When you finally realize and listen to your intuition and ACT on what it’s telling you there is such a greater sense of inner peace. Great post!

    1. Thankyou Kamira!! I ignored my intuition for too long and got myself into a situation where my gut was all I had to trust! Since then my life has become completely different and I now know the importance of listening to that inside feeling!

  2. This is such a great list! I have to agree with Sam, I think number 1 is my favorite. One of my resolutions for 2018 is going to be trying to be more present with my family and friends.

    1. Thank you Cathy! You will notice such a difference in your general wellbeing by making the conscious effort to be more present around family and friends!

  3. I’ve recently separated from my husband. The couple of months before I started to really trust my gut and when I saw something that didn’t sit right with me I questioned it and knew instantly he was lying. A few months earlier I wouldn’ve believed his explanation, but I told him I knew he was lying (I felt it in my bones!) and that it was only making matters worse. He admitted the lie and although I “let it go” it was only the beginning of me no longer accepting things and habits that did not flow in accerdance to my moral compass. I didn’t leave in anger. I told him I wanted him to pursue his path but that it did not align with mine. I’m sooooo a peace with my decision. I am sad and grieving the lose of my marriage and partner, but Gods peace is in my heart and I will heal. I hope he does too 🌸

    1. Wow Marcyanna! Sounds like you handled the situation really well and good on you! Things happen for a reason and although you may not see the reason yet, you will look back one day and be grateful that your gut clearly knew something was not right! I wish you all the best of luck, love and light x
